Amanda's Busy, Busy Life

On Sunday, May 4th Amanda received her Young Womanhood Recognition Award in Sacrament Meeting. It was great that Grandma and Grandpa Christopherson were here for this special day!

"We love the way she wears her Young Women's Medallion" (heehee...from the movie Sons of Provo). We are so happy for her and admire all the hard work that she put into earning this over her 6 years in Young Womens!

Amanda loves playing with Brielle, her first and favorite niece! Brielle thought everyone was funny for Halloween.

Kahuku High School is serious about their football! Here's Amanda and her friends at the State playoffs in Aloha Stadium in Honolulu - the place was packed!

Brielle is such fun! Amanda loves to babysit her and we will really miss her happy personality since they moved to the mainland. She is always smiling!

Amanda is the queen of silliness! She and her friends love to dress up in some wacky style and go out to some public place and have lots of fun. This is their "Hairspray" movie premier party. They teased their hair all up and sprayed it good, got in their fancy dresses, then drove to town to see the movie and get ice cream. You might not think they look very silly, but in Hawaii the hairstyles are au natural and this is pretty fancy.

This is Amanda's birthday Tea Party. All the girls got gussied up with hats, gloves and dresses and had a fancy tea party with scones, mini muffins, fruits, tiny sandwiches, etc., etc., - all made by Amanda, who is a fantastic cook!

You get any of our kids together and no one can keep a straight face! Adam may have started the trend as a little boy, but the tradition is sure being kept alive by the younger kids.

Just so you know that Amanda isn't all beauty and no brain - here she is hoarding her medals after the State Science Olympiad competition. She will be a freshman at BYU-Hawaii this fall majoring in Micro Biology (little smarty-pants), and no, I don't help her with her homework. But she also loves to dance and will be on the Seasider Spirit Dance Team, too. She is going to be one busy girl!

Adam's BYU-Hawaii Graduation

Congratulations to Adam on his graduation from BYU-Hawaii! Since their little family left Hawaii before the actual commencement ceremony Brooke organized a custom commencement for Adam with all the friends and family that are here.

This was all a surprise to Adam as everyone gathered to celebrate his accomplishments. When he was finally brought outside we were all waiting to cheer for him as he took his commencement walk. Chuck gave the address with lots of good advice and laughs including a "Lei of Plenty" with fruits and vegetables to represent a life of abundance.

Then we all piled leis on him, had pizza and cake and partied until the sun set. It was a great day!

Welcome to Stratton Shenanigans

Aloha! The Stratton family is full of fun and adventure. We have lived in many wonderful places and now call Hawaii "home". This site will keep you aware of all our antics!

Here is an aerial view of our little town, Laie. We live out on "Laie Point", the peninsula you see in this photo. BYU-Hawaii is in the middle on the left side of the picture. This is a great place to live and work!
